Mustang Island State Park
At Mustang Island State Park, families enjoy a serene environment for camping, shell collecting, and nature watching on 5 miles of coastline along Mustang Island.

J.P. Luby Surf Park/North Packery Jetty
This local favorite draws large crowds of young adults and teens enjoying fun in the sun, surfing, volleyball and barbeques.

South Packery Channel
Conveniently located close to hotels and condominiums, this visitor favorite is a relaxed, family friendly stretch of beach perfect for wading and building sand castles.

Upper Padre Island Seawall
Designed to protect hotels and homes, the 1 mile Upper Padre Island Sea Wall offers breathtaking views and a great spot to walk, bicycle, skate and take in the sunsets and sunrises.

  • Free parking lot with direct access to the beach and ADA ramp
  • Amenities include public restrooms and showers
  • Hotels & condos located along the seawall
  • Beach umbrellas & chairs available for rental

Padre Island National Seashore
This national treasure is the longest barrier island in the world with sandy beaches, excellent bird watching and world class windsurfing. This beach has something for everyone.

  • Kemp’s ridley sea turtle nesting & releases
  • Scheduled nature based activities

Padre Balli Park/Bob Hall Pier
At this family friendly beach, visitors will find a long pier ideal for fishing, large waves for surfing and accommodating amenities with parking just steps from the water.

Whitecap Beach
A local favorite, Whitecap Beach is perfect for a relaxing escape and often with sparse stretches all to yourself for a quiet stroll or picnic lunch.

Natural Beach
This beach is committed to preserving the natural integrity of the beach with limited maintenance and offering the nature-minded visitor natural beauty.

Bay Beaches

North Beach
With close-by hotels and condominiums, the calm waters of this beach are ideal for swimmers and children and offers spectacular views of nearby attractions.

McGee Beach
Located on the downtown seawall with restaurants and rentals available, this beach is perfect for children and fishing along the jetties.
